Castle Wernigerode
Since 1999, Wernigerode Castle has been considered a nationally significant cultural monument – and as such, it should definitely be on your holiday bucket list. The castle grounds also include three magnificent gardens that are sure to captivate you. Inside the castle, there are around fifty rooms to explore on two different tours. The castle is therefore an important museological centre for the cultural history of the 19th and early 20th centuries and definitely worth a visit!

Harzer Schmalspurbahnen

In addition to the normal timetable, there are special themed trains at Easter, Walpurgis Night and New Year’s Eve, often running as nostalgic steam locomotives. Historic old town Wernigerode
